More On Wedding Photography Portraiture – Traditional: Portraiture is the most commonly used format in photographing weddings. This style is used for your formal pictures where posing and precision must be implemented. Portraiture can be both very conservative in style to very loose and fun. Be sure to discuss posing and formal picture styles with me as we plan your wedding photography. Soft Focus – Romantic: The soft, sometimes romantic and always dreamlike visual with the pale lighting is what is called soft focus photography. To get this effect I use special lens, often lighting and sometimes digital effects to create such a mood. Natural Light – This is my personal favorite: Natural light is not simulated through the use of a camera flash. The lighting is provided by the natural setting, such as the sun, moonlight, and street lamps. Such precise photography is usually reserved for portrait photography and not weddings. As I stated, this is my favorite method of shooting and it is the style in which I excel. Photojournalism – Wedding photojournalism: Time magazine and often National Geographic are perfect examples of photojournalistic art. This style was born within the news media, and successfully attained "art" status and has transferred very nicely to story book wedding photography. Artistic: Close ups of a shoe slipping on the foot, or hand buttoning the bridal gown, silhouettes, to abstracts of the bouquet and dress, these are all types of photographs that can be classified as artistic. With the advent of digital photography tools, special filters can also be applied to a photograph to give it an artistic look. Back to "My Wedding Photography Styles". Wedding Engagement Photography Engagement photography, or an engagement session, is a fantastic way for the bride and groom to capture their feelings prior to the wedding, in a relaxed environment of their choice. Often times, these photographs are the ones most remembered and cherished. Engagement photography is included in my top end package and can be purchased as an add-on to any package. Stylistically these photographs are a combination of fashion and glamour coupled with relaxed candid poses to create a romantic and memorable portrait. Making Your Wedding Day Memorable Your wedding day is a celebration for you. Your wedding day should not be about managing all the people bringing your wedding together. A person, a hired wedding planner or trusted friend should provide you day of coordination. The wedding photographer works closely with the day of wedding coordinator to ensure that your wedding photography goes smoothly so that you can celebrate the day without delay. Palm Springs Destination Weddings Palm Springs is quickly becoming one of the United States most desired wedding destination locations. With an amazing selection of venues, hotels and restaurants to choose from, you can have almost any style of wedding you choose. From intimate and boutique weddings and ceremonies to stunning outdoor and nature weddings in the Indian Canyons, Desert locations, gardens, or the World Famous Tram your wedding pictures, or engagement photographs will hold special memories with stunning beauty. Boutique and Intimate Weddings "Elegant, private, intimate, personal, romantic, memorable, fun & stress free these are just a few of the words that describe a "Boutique wedding". Typically a boutique wedding is a very intimate wedding and a romantic wedding. With anywhere from 2-75 people in attendance they are usually held in a very romantic location such as a garden, waterfall, mountain top, beach or other similar soul connecting locations. The resulting wedding photographs are rich with emotion and the story of your wedding day.
